RJ Quijano’s franchise story started when he and his family first tried Takoyadon’s takoyaki and yakisoba. From being a customer, he is now a co-owner of Takoyadon’s first full size restaurant with a 60-seating capacity at SM Muntinlupa.
Takoyadon continues to celebrate simultaneous expansions happening in different SM malls nationwide. After seeing the challenges of the limited seating capacity from their previous branches, they started venturing into opening full capacity inline restaurants in malls.
To offer a wider variety of menu and cater to more customers, Takoyadon started its ‘Takoyadon Plus’ line of restaurants in malls with the branch in SM City Molino as the first.
From the 20-seating capacity at SM Molino, Takoyadon officially opened its first full capacity restaurant with a seating capacity of 60 at SM Muntinlupa last April. A month after its grand opening, Takoyadon Plus in SM Muntinlupa already recorded good sales and is now considered as one of the top-selling stores in the mall.
The success of the SM Muntinlupa branch goes way back to when RJ Quijano and his family got a taste of the best-selling takoyaki and yakisoba at a random visit to Takoyadon SM Molino branch. After enjoying Takoyadon’s authentic and affordable Japanese dishes, RJ and his family were inspired to become franchisees and open their own branch.
Aside from the remarkable sales from their first 3 days, RJ was grateful for the encouragement and overall support they received from the Takoyadon management team. “We are very lucky to be given a chance to be one of the partners of Takoyadon,” says RJ Quijano.
